At CAO Point (accessible from https://caopoint.com), the privacy of our visitors is one of our main priorities. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by CAO Point and how we use it.

1. The CAO Points Calculator (Data Assurance)

We understand that your Leaving Certificate grades and predicted points are sensitive personal information.

  • No Data Storage: The CAO Points Calculator on our website runs entirely locally in your web browser using JavaScript.
  • Complete Privacy: We do not collect, store, transmit, or save the grades, subjects, or points you enter into the calculator. Once you close or refresh the page, that data is completely gone.

2. Information We Collect

When you visit CAO Point, we may collect certain information automatically, or information you voluntarily provide to us:

  • Voluntary Information: If you contact us directly (via email or our Contact Us form), we may receive your name, email address, the contents of your message, and any other information you choose to provide.
  • Log Files: CAO Point follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. The information collected includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, and tracking user movement on the website.

3. Cookies and Web Beacons

Like any other website, CAO Point uses “cookies”. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors engage with our site. Google Analytics uses cookies to track things like how long you spend on the site and the pages that you visit so we can continue to produce engaging content.

  • For more information on Google Analytics cookies, see the official Google Privacy page.

Google AdSense & DoubleClick DART Cookie

Google is one of the third-party vendors on our site. It also uses cookies, known as DART cookies, to serve ads to our site visitors based upon their visit to www.caopoint.com and other sites on the internet.

Advertising Partners

Some of advertisers on our site may use cookies and web beacons. Each of our advertising partners has their own Privacy Policy for their policies on user data. When we partner with premium ad networks (such as Mediavine or Raptive), they may collect IP addresses, and unique device identifiers to serve personalized ads.

4. GDPR Data Protection Rights (For Irish & EU Users)

Because our primary audience is based in Ireland, we are fully committed to complying with the GDPR. Every user is entitled to the following:

You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options. To know more detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers, it can be found at the browsers’ respective websites.

6. Children’s Information

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

CAO Point does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 16. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
